  • New Boston Independent School District is located in New Boston, Texas - the county seat of Bowie County in extreme northeast Texas. New Boston ISD was established in 1890 and consists of five campuses - Oakview Primary, Crestview Elementary, New Boston Middle School, New Boston High School, and Buddy Alford DAEP. Brian Bobbit, Superintendent, the school board, administration, faculty, and community are committed to an educational system that will provide challenging learning experiences for every child. The district is determined that each student will become a productive citizen capable of making a positive contribution to a global society.

    2018-2019 Nomination Window


    New Boston ISD’s Gifted and Talented Program is currently accepting K-12 nominations for the 2018-2019 school year.

    Gifted and Talented students excel consistently or show the potential to excel in general intellectual ability, specific subject matter, aptitude, and creative thinking.  Nominated students are screened using a variety of measures, including academic and gifted characteristic scales, standardized tests of cognitive abilities, and portfolios of work. The screening and identification process will take place by the G/T Committee during the fall and early spring semesters.
