FFA presents Mr. Rinnert with ring

BACK

The FFA Chapter at New Boston High School held a very special meeting on Monday, September 14, In addition to their regular agenda, members had a special surprise presentation planned for a very special man. That man was Mr. Ronald Rinnert.

Mr Rinnert was the chapter's first Lone Star Farmer Degree recipient in 1949 and was elected as the first state FFA officer from the New Boston chapter and served as the FFA State Vice-President in 1949-50. Mr Rinnert is a 1954 graduate of Texas A&M University and has lead a very full and interesting life serving overseas in the millitary and upon completion of his tour of duty, he became a missionary. It was his missionary work that resulted in him giving up his Aggie ring in exchange for printing of the gospel in order to help others. Texas A&M graduates realize the importance of their Aggie rings, so Kevin Burns - FFA advisor and a 1994 graduate, Tim Graham - school board president and 1989 A&M graduate, along with the New Boston High School FFA chapter, and other generous members of the community came together and replaced Mr. Rinnert's ring.

When presented with this ring by NBHS FFA President Nich Basso, Mr. Rinnert was overcome with emotion and said, "My nugget, I got my nugget back!"
